چکیده

A large investigational effort has been made over the past 30 years in the attempt to identify the optimal antithrombotic therapy for patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). One of the key messages consistently arising from clinical trials is that the stronger the platelet inhibition at the time of PCI, the lower the incidence of thrombotic events following the procedure (1–4). The periprocedural period is a vulnerable time frame during which the patient’s prognosis is mainly delineated. An adequate pre-PCI antiplatelet treatment is required not only to prevent thrombotic complications immediately after the procedure, but also to reduce recurrent ischemic events at follow-up. This is particularly true for patients with acute

Platelet-To-Lymphocyte Ratio as a Predictor of No-Reflow after Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Patients with ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Introduction: No-reflow increases the complications and mortality rate of primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Therefore, it is important to identify patients at a higher risk of developing no-reflow. This study aimed to systematically review the prognostic value of the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) to predict no-reflow. Materials and Methods:</s...

Effect of Exercise Training on Heart Rate Variability in Patients with Heart Failure After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

Background: This study aims to evaluate the effect of exercise training on heart rate variability (HRV) and to determine the correlation between parameters of HRV and the ejection fraction in patients with heart failure after percutaneous coronary intervention.Material and Methods: Fifty patients with left ventricular ejection fraction ≤ 40% undergone percutaneous coronary intervention were r...

Association of ABCB1 Gene Polymorphisms and Clopidogrel Responsiveness in Iranian Patients undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet agent currently used for preventing stent thrombosis. Despite certain clinical benefits of clopidogrel in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), adequate antiplatelet effect has not been obtained in some patients. The present study was designed to investigate the potential association of ABCB1 (ATP-Binding Cassette, Subfamily B, member1) gen...
